World of Warcraft - Item Upgrading
The upgrade option lets players increase the gear rating of an item up to 700 points and give it a bonus. Items can be upgraded by keeping them in inventory before heading to the kiln.
Certain items are worth upgrading due to their distinctive stats. (For instance, a perfectly roll breakpoint armor is used in melee PvP). Other items such as weapons aren't changed much after an upgrade and aren't worth the effort.
Weapons
Upgrades to weapons can boost their numerical stats, such as attack damage, crit probability and PvE/PvP damage. They also have an unchanging bonus that increases their damage per second. Many weapons also come with an unaffected bonus that is activated when three or more identical weapons are used in a unit. This bonus may exceed the damage that an upgrade can do on its own.
The cost of upgrading a weapon's capabilities is contingent on the nature of the weapon as well as its current level. For example, an +2 weapon requires two standard Smithing Stones while a+3 requires four. The number of stones required to upgrade the weapon will continue to increase until it is required to use a higher tier of Smithing Stones, at which the number will be reset to one.
Upgrades to weapons also alter the stats of their base. This is usually a good factor, but it could also have negative consequences. In the case of items that are only used in a certain build (Whistant's shield for FB sorcs, for instance) upgrading them can render them unusable unless you have an extremely lucky roll.
It is possible to upgrade armor items to increase their performance. This can increase the defense of a chest or helm as well as belts and gloves. These will boost their required strength and agility. Armor has a rerolling option for its Enhanced Defense%. This means that it can sometimes reduce its value.
The upgrade template of a weapon will display the new stats that it will gain upon upgrading along with the values of these stats. This means that the weapon will gain an attack damage of 3% if it is upgraded from an 8 attack damage sword to an 11 attack damage sword. However the 3% does not mean that it will hit for 3 times less often because it's an absolute statistic.
A weapon can be rerolled by pressing the green button that has arrows that circle in the item menu. This will reroll the item and change its stats, however, it will not reset the weapon's level or connect to the status of your account.
Armor
Making a few improvements to your armor could make a an enormous difference in your ability to endure. Certain sets can offer massive increases in resistance to poison, curses and fire as well as magic. This makes it easier to traverse difficult areas. The more defense your character has the more value you can get from each point of health you have, so it's important to improve your armor as much as possible.
To upgrade your armor, head to one of the Great Fairy Fountains in the game. There are four in total, and each requires you to complete a specific side quest involving the Stable Trotters musical troupe. After you've completed the main side quest and have completed the fountain in question you'll be able to talk to any Great Fairy to open up the menu for upgrading your armor.
The amount of materials required to upgrade each piece of armor will vary. It is possible to use anything from three Red Chuchu jellies and 10 Rupees to upgrade the first armor piece, and between five Rubies or ten Fire-Breath Lizalfos Horns to upgrade the next one. For instance the Champion Leathers could be upgraded to +5 defense, allowing you to keep up with a good-sized group of enemies in most cold climates, and the Snowquill Headdress can be upgraded to +20 defense, granting you enough protection to withstand an entire raid with a few friends.
Note that armor can't be upgraded in the same way as weapons, so you'll want to focus on upgrading it for physical strength if you're a Warrior or Spell Power when you're a Mage. It is recommended to save your armor upgrades to upgrade the armor you'll still be wearing at the end of the story, for example the Ring of Lightning, Spectral Shield or the mask you use in the final boss fight, the Monter Parts Merchant Mask.
By giving the jeweler 10 Twinkling Titanite in Gerudo Town in Gerudo Town, you can gain some benefits to your armor. Generally speaking, you'll want to save these upgrades for the weapon you'll use to win the game, such as the Longsword, Battleaxe or Warhammer however, it could be beneficial to have a few improvements to the helmets and chest armor that permit you to sneak past some monsters.
Potions
Potions are liquid substances that, when consumed provide the user with an effect on their status for a short period of time. There are item upgrade of potions, each having a specific set of effects and durations. Some potions can be upgraded to increase their effectiveness. Additionally, the effects of some potions can be enhanced by adding redstone or glowstone dust them.
Potion upgrades cost a specific amount of XP. These can be earned by crafting them on a crafting table or in an Alchemist's chest. The price of upgrades will vary based on the type of potion you'd like to upgrade, as well as on the item's Mark Level and Rarity.
To upgrade a potion, right-click on it in your inventory and choose the "Upgrade" option from the menu. This will open an GUI that lets you select the potion you want to upgrade and the amount of experience they will provide when upgraded. Upgrades to potions can be made in batches of up to five at a time, and the XP they provide will be added to your current XP level.
Once a potion is upgraded in quality, it will not deteriorate until you make use of it again or break the bottle within the container it is stored. Clicking on the potion in your inventory will also allow you to change the name of the potion.
Version 1.7.2 introduced a few changes to the mechanism of potions. Splash potions for instance have now a duration of zero, not the 22.5 seconds displayed on the hover display of the item. The table for potion is now made of four Wood Planks, and two Glass. This allows it to be used by players in Survival and Bedrock. Bedrock Edition potions aren't compatible with cauldrons, as is the case with Java Edition. The same is true for using a potion in the cauldron that is filled. This will deplete the potion, and refill the bottle.
In addition, there are lingering potions that are brewed using splash and dragon breath potions. Similarly, a lingering potions can be enhanced by adding redstone to it. The table of potion ingredients is now laid out more in line with the Java Edition, and new potions were added such as the potion of leaping, the decomposition potion, as well as turtle master potions.
Trinkets
A trinket can be a small, inexpensive ornament or piece of jewelry. It could also be an object or ornament that serves a purpose, but is not important as a thimble. In some cultures, trinkets are used to signify affection or friendship, particularly between family members.
Trinkets can be upgraded by players in addition to weapons, armor, and potions. These can be upgraded by visiting an upgrade vendor and paying the appropriate amount in currency. Trinkets, unlike other items that can be upgraded, can be exchanged at any time without losing statistics.

Upgrade vendors can be found at the capitals of every zone, and sometimes in dungeons. Upgrades for trinkets can be purchased using tokens, gold, or fragments from a rare trinket.
Upgrades are a cost-effective alternative to buying a new trinket. It can be done by a player for as little as 12 tokens. The new trinket will have the same base ilvl as the previous one, and will come with an additional upgrade bonus of 1.
Once the old Trinkets have become not usable, they can be upgraded. This allows a player to increase both their power and value with time. They can also be traded between players and are an attractive alternative to gold.
In general, players should upgrade their highest priority items first. This usually refers to the most valuable-in-slot items for their class, then their secondaries, and finally other pieces of gear that they won't replace in the near future (for instance an earring or cloak). It is also important to consider your class's preferred stats when selecting the items to upgrade. For example, if Haste and Crit are the two most important stats for tanks, they should prioritize upgrading their chest, helm shoulders, belt, and chest.
After they've become unusable trinkets are able to be upgraded to a higher level. The upgraded trinket will give you an additional bonus of 1. However, a re-upgrade is likely to ruin the previous trinket in the event that it is not salvaged with a Black Lion Salvage Kit or a higher-tier salvage tool. Upgrades to trinkets can be more expensive than other upgrades, but still less expensive than purchasing an entirely new trinket.
